Zigzag Rayon Scarf in Burgundy and Indigo from Guatemala, “Lovely Zigzag”

Presented by Guatemala’s Women United for Artisan Development, this lovely scarf represents an effort to provide local women with the artisanal skills they need to sustain themselves. The artisans hand-weave this scarf from rayon on the traditional telar de cintura, or backstrap loom. Threads of burgundy, indigo, and snow white create zigzags and a subtle striped pattern. Elegant fringes decorate this scarf on the ends.
