Description True, dayllight-visible Nightforce NX8 riflescopes are compact and capable – and adhere to Nightforce’s mantra of Rugged, Reliable, and Repeatable. Optimized toward fast target acquisition and short- to mid-range shooting, the Nightforce NX8 F1 features a 1-8x magnification range, a 24mm objective lens, and a first focal plane reticle. The compact profile of the NX8 (only 8.75″ long and 17 ounces) allows Nightforce to implement their signature superior optics in a small package that doesn’t add a large signature or weight commitment. There are two current options available for the Nightforce NX8: Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm F1 – ZeroStop – .2mrad Capped Windage PTL FC-Mil C598 Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm F1 – ZeroStop – .5 MOA Capped Windage PTL FC-MOA C600 Nightforce NX8 Features Daylight-visible center red dot promotes fast target acquisition, with “Off” settings in between each brightness setting Intelligent FC-Mil and FC-MOA first focal plane reticles provide precise hold points via subtensions ZeroStop elevation turret allows for quick, precise elevation adjustments via dialing, with rapid and positive return to zero .2 Mil-Radian OR .5 MOA elevation increments (depending on model) Integrated Power Throw Lever (PTL) 30mm Body Tube with rugged construction balanced with light weight Capped windage adjustment Specifications Item Condition New Scope Weight: 17 oz Scope Length: 8.75″ (Mounting Length 5.67″) Magnification Range: 1-8x Scope Objective Diameter: 24mm Scope Tube Size / Mount: 30mm Turret Adjustment (Click Value): .2 MRad Click Value Elevation Turret Details: 30 MRad Total Elevation Windage Turret Details: 30 MRad Total Windage Parallax Adjustment: Fixed at 125m Reticle Position: First Focal Plane Reticle Details: Illuminated FC-Mil Reticle Field of View: 106.0 ft @ 100 Yards (1x) 13.2 ft @ 100 Yards (8x) Exit Pupil: 7.9 – 3 mm Eye Relief: 95.3 mm / 3.75″ Illuminated Reticle: Daylight-visible, Adjustable FC-Mil Scope Finish: Matte Black Scope Turret Rotation: Counter Clockwise (CCW) Product Type Riflescopes UPC 847362015514 MPN C598 People Who Bought This Also Bought Nightforce ATACR 1-8x24mm F1 .1mrad – NVD – Capped Adj – PTL FC-DM C597 $2,800.00 2 reviews Nightforce UltraLite Uni-Mount 1.125 20 MOA 30mm A190 $260.00 Trijicon RMR 3.25 Adj MOA Red RMR Type 2; HRS Hard Anodized Coyote Brown RM06-C-700780 $483.25 3 reviews Reviews Reviews for Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm F1 – ZeroStop – .2mrad Capped Windage PTL FC-Mil C598 Average Rating by Anonymous on April 2, 2018 It is hard to imagine giving any Nightforce product a rating below 5 stars. This is my 4th Nightforce scope and the first time Nightforce has disappointed me. See Below: Pros: Weight – With many 1-4X optics weighing in at 16oz, the NX8’s 17oz is impressive. Illumination – True daylight visibility allows running this optic like a red dot at 1x. Reticle – The “halo” around the center dot looks like a red dot at 1x and expands to a nice halo at higher magnification. Durability – I didn’t test this, but its a Nightforce. I’m assuming it is durable. Cons: The reticle has a 1.25 MOA center dot. It is barely visible at 1x and unnecessary as the “halo” forms a dot, but at 8X the 1.25 MOA dot is HUGE. An 8x optic should easily be able to engage targets past 400 yards (should be good to 800), but at 400 yards the center dot covers over 5.25″ of target, and at 800 it would cover 10.5″. The center dot should have been .5 MOA to give this scope maximum functionality. I hunt hogs in Texas from 20 feet away with an AR and red dot to over half a mile with a DT SRS-A1. I can’t imagine precision shooting past 250 yards with the NX8 due to the 1.25 MOA dot. This makes the magnification above 4x more of a gimmick than a usable function. Conclusion: I am sorely disappointed with this scope. It has the potential to be one of the most versatile scopes on the market for short to medium range, but the reticle drastically limits its capabilities. If Nighforce would release the NX8 with the same reticle but change the center dot to .5 MOA I would put these on most of my rifles, but with the current reticle, it is no more useful than a Vortex PST 1-4 and at 4 times the cost, not at all worth it. Was this review helpful? by Anonymous on July 12, 2019 I recently purchased this to mount on a Tikka t3x Arctic to take to a rifle course. My experience with it was mixed. It was crystal clear, the reticle is nice, and I was able to make two hits in two tries at 750 yards and I almost couldn’t miss on steel at 300. That having been said, this scope has the shortest eye relief I have ever encountered in a scope. I mean, no matter how far back I slid it, at max magnification all I could get was a very narrow peephole. If it had a reasonable eye box I would love it. But the eye box is so small and the eye relief is so limited that it is almost painful to use it. I hate to say that, because I love my other Nightforce scopes and the quality of the glass is outstanding. But, if you cannot wear it like a monocle it is very frustrating. Was this review helpful? by Anton on December 7, 2019 It’s a great optic! Great glass, great turrets. Those that complain about a 1.25MOA center dot being too big are wrong. It does not obstruct the target at all as at distance you will be holding over with a reticle for bullet drop and wind compensation and the center dot will not be on the target. If you like to dial elevation you will still hold for wind. If you dial for wind you are doing it wrong. Yes, the eye box is more sensitive than a razor 1-6×24, but it’s a compact/lightweight 1-8×24 and it is to be expected. One thing I do wish it had are wind hold dots on the reticle like on the FC-DM, but then I guess there wouldn’t be as much incentive for people to buy a 1-8 ATACR. Was this review helpful? by Eric on January 8, 2020 Everything about it is awesome….except for one key part. The reticle. 2 moa Aimpoints I ring steel all day long at 400m, and I can with this, but that’s about it. Like the other complaints the center dot is LARGE. At 1x the illumination is amazing. Basically because of the reticle it’s a $1800 red dot. Hopefully NF will fix it…and replace it for the ones that already own one.
