Zuni Polychrome Seed Pottery This Zuni Polychrome Seed Pottery is a favorite design of Yvonne Nashboo (1975- ). Acquired at auction, this work combines old style, effigy imagery with modern interpretation. The wide belly displays 4 frogs, a major rain-bringing symbol for the desert pueblos. It’s 4-1/2″ tall and the same wide and is signed under the base. There is some bleeding of the terracotta paint, otherwise in very good condition. This Zuni Polychrome Seed Pottery is one of a kind! Yvonne was born into the Eagle Clan. She is the partner of Brian Tsethilkai and they frequently work together. Along with many other family members, she is referenced in Schaaf’s, “Southern Pueblo Pottery 2000 Artist biographies”.
